Lawson H. (Mike) Hardwick, III founded Churchill Mortgage Corporation in 1992 in Brentwood, TN. With Mike's wealth of experience in the banking, financing, and real estate industries, going into business for himself was an obvious progression.

"I have been in the mortgage and finance business for over 30 years, and have found that it is really a 'people' business where there needs to be a relationship of trust. That is what I enjoy most -- caring for people."

Mike is the son of L.H. Hardwick Jr., formerly senior pastor of Christ Church, which he founded over 50 years ago.

Mike has lived in Nashville all his life and is married to the beautiful Stephanie D. Hardwick, as well as being the proud father of two lovely daughters, Shayna Gunn (married to Derek Gunn) and Megan Hardwick (graduate of Boston University), and two sons, Lawson H. Hardwick, IV, and Michael Carson Hardwick.

The first half of Mike's career was spent in commercial and investment banking with two nationally known firms. In the early 80's, Mike founded a condo conversion company, which grew to be the largest in the nation.

Shortly after the peak of that business, Mike became one of the principal founders of Franklin National Bank in Franklin, TN. Mike served as an Executive Vice President until 1992, and then founded Churchill Mortgage. He continued serving on the Board of Directors for Franklin National Bank for several years thereafter until it was acquired by Fifth Third Bank.

Someone once said Mike is the best known non-politician in Nashville. For that reason and due to his desire to serve his clients, in a matter of months, Churchill grew to 8 employees, and today has over 200.

We have earned a reputation as a mortgage company who can get loans done that other companies have not been able to. And the fact that we receive most of our business by referrals sets us even further apart.
