With over 20 years of experience, Matt Clarke is a seasoned veteran of the financial industry with expertise in financial management, business development, operational management, strategic planning, banking, process development, mergers / acquisitions, and risk management. In his role at Churchill Mortgage, Matt has helped migrate the corporation from a mortgage broker to a mortgage banker, implemented new origination and servicing systems, recruited and developed a retail branch network, and had a hand in many other processes responsible for the overall improvement of the lender.

Prior to joining Churchill Mortgage in 2003, Matt worked for several companies in the housing and finance industries, including CNA Insurance Companies and Massachusetts Mutual.

Matt graduated from Stonehill College in North Easton, MA. with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Finance. Matt and his wife, Susan, are proud parents of three sons (Seth, Ethan and Logan) and a daughter (Ella).

He has served on many industry and community boards including: Mortgage Partners of America, Community Mortgage Lenders of America, Real Estate Services of America, The Shalom Foundation Community Development, and Lighthouse Christian School Capital Campaign. He is president of The Churchill Agency and ICAN Foundation, and is part of the advisory boards for Lenders One Mortgage Cooperative and Ellie Mae. Matt is also former president and board member of the East Williamson Athletic Association.

In 2015, Matt was as the winner of the Nashville Business Journal’s CFO Award, which honors Middle Tennessee’s top financial professionals for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards. He was also recognized as a finalist for the award in 2013.
